Clean and sleek, the area where one would conceivably check in doesn’t really have a whole lot to it. It’s not terribly large, consisting mainly of the receptionist desk and a bulletin board that notes can be pinned to. The desk is more like a wide open window into another room, with the top half of the opening obscured so as to protect the privacy of the staff as well as your own. Though there is a solid metal door that leads outside, it doesn’t seem to budge – no amount of force seems to even be able to put a dent or crack in it. Same with the windows, if you can even climb up to get to them. They may be the only windows in the entire hotel, but at least the weather always looks like it’s sunny outside.
Welcome to roomies, intense edition. “Rooms” are set up in two staggered rows on either side of the hall, with a small unobtrusive ladder to get up into the upper rows. Calling the cabins “rooms” is incredibly generous given their size – one person can fit rather comfortably inside the space consisting of the bed, a small flat screen TV, a light, and a little niche where you can store things, but two people might start to get a little cramped. The door to respective cabins are opened by the collar of the person the room belongs to, so at least guests don’t need to be worried about being killed in their sleep, but it’s not like they’re soundproof or anything.
Capsule assignments are here.
Complete with the luxury of several distinct bathrooms and even... private showers! Well, if you consider what amounts to a capsule a shower. Regardless of the space confines these ultra-modern showers will give you a thorough cleaning, much like a car wash. Fluffy robes and hair dryers are available for just the slightest semblance of comfort.
You may not be able to go outside, but that doesn’t mean you’ll starve at least. Any balloter can place an order for “room” service which will be delivered by a friendly robot here, given eating in the capsule is highly frowned upon. And cramped.
The food selection is a litany of Japanese cuisine with one caveat…The only food that is in stock is off the kid’s menu. At least all meals come with a cute flag.
Neat rows of lockers with their numbers emblazoned in neon yellow make up the entirety of this room. An unambiguous electronic lock protects the various contents inside and is impervious to water, fire, and plain brute force... Curiously, the lockers are all various sizes, though they fit together like a satisfying combo in tetris. If you're looking for spare clothes, plenty of hotel branded uniforms are also stored here.
More book nook than library, there's a selection of books that line one of the walls in the room. Fiction is the only genre available, though you have your pick from sci-fi, romance, murder mysteries and even a little manga section off to the side. There's also some seating in the room, if you don't really want to take it back to your pod with you.
Far from olympic sized in any interpretation, but maybe it makes up for space with style. Luckily, space efficiency means there’s room for an adjacent hot tub that’s almost as large as the pool. Swimsuits and towels are stored in bins pool sized (various sizes and styles, all neon yellow) along with a singular avocado pool float with detachable beach ball.
A good alternative if you’re looking to escape the cramped confines of your living quarters, the lounge seems to have enough sitting space to be able to be comfortable, but maybe not a whole lot more than that. That may or may not be in part due to the line of vending machines selling different kinds of alcohol that take up part of the space. There’s even a table here for table tennis, if you’re into that sort of thing.
After being cooped up for a week, open space! Decorated with bonzai owls with a few tables for seating, the main focus of this area is a large stage set for a musical performance. The gold accents that decorate the area seem to sparkle with the sun.
A cheerful jingle greets all customers along with a robotic irashaimase. While the checkout here is self-service, the full selection of convenience store stock is available: various snack food, wrapped pastries, toiletries, magazines, and a hot box with chicken tenders, chicken wings, chicken fries, and chicken patties. The alcohol and tobacco sold here are guarded with a cheerful display that says “ADULTS ONLY”, but a bright sticker can only do so much...
Multiple floors and many games of chance just short of gambling. The first floor hosts a cornucopia of crane games with prizes ranging from plushes, figures, clothes, and even the odd household appliance. The second floor houses standard arcade game fare: fighters, racers, shooters, and bullet hell. The third and final floor is for all the various intersections of music and gaming, featuring dance machines, rhythm games and open floor karaoke.
Thankfully there’s not a kid’s menu in sight, though there isn’t really a menu at all (if you shout for something specific, you might just get what you asked for within reason, or you might just get a heaping of wasabi instead).. Pick and choose whatever catches your eye (literally) from the wide variety of sushi that come down the belts throughout this restaurant. No matter if you sit at the bar or in a booth, you’ll find there’s no shortage of food, though if you really want to call first dibs the bar is right next to the kitchen, the door of which is wedged firmly shut.
